YSA is funded primarily by grants which are designated for specific programs at specific times. But sponsors allow us to provide additional materials and experiences for the children in our programs.

Local sponsors such as Marquette Mall (Holiday Magic), the Michigan City Police Department (Chief's Cruise during National Night Out Against Crime),  and the Michigan City Yacht Club (Venetian Night) hold fundraisers for YSA; the proceeds from these events are put into YSA's "general administrative" fund which is used for staff training, t-shirts, supplies (art/craft/sports, office, etc.), and transportation.

Other sponsors have donated funds and materials to YSA.

B&E Marine donated towards the purchase of 40 new life jackets for the swimming classes held during YSA's Summer Adventure Camps, helping us to keep our students safe while teaching them water safety skills as well as swimming.

Bubbles Ice Cream donated free ice cream cones to those entries drawn from submissions of "What I Did Over The Summer."

Al's Supermarkets donated hotdogs and buns to the National Night Out and Kids Day events.

McDonald's donated orange drink, ice, dispensers, and "free food" coupons to Kids Day.

The Michigan City Area Schools provides YSA with bus transportation and access to the Elston Middle School pool and gym during the Summer Adventure Camps and Kids Day.

We try to provide the children in our programs with back-pack safety tags, books, and other items. NIPSCO has generously donated towards these purchases more than once.

The Jack & Shirley Lubeznik Center for the Arts has allowed the YSA members to meet at their facility, at no cost, dozens of times.

The YSA member organizations are very grateful to these sponsors for the support and assistance they have provided to the children of our community.

If you are interested in becoming a YSA Sponsor, please call 219/363-1407 or send email to info@laportecountyysa.com .

Thank you for your interest and support of our community's youth.
